Notting Hill - Soundtrack Review

Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant starred in this romantic movie back in 1999, at least that is when it was released in South America. I went to see it at the mall with my mom while I was on spring term vacation. We had lots of fun as Julia Roberts is my mom's favorite actress. I remember thinking that Hugh Grant was is handsome.

This movie's soundtrack is so special to me. I just love every song and all the lyrics. I find that every song fits the scenes and plot so perfectly. One of my favorite songs is 'No Matter What' by Boyzone. I also really like 'She' by Elvis Costello and 'Ain't No Sunshine' by Lighthouse Family.

I can't deny what I believe
I can't be what I'm not
I know our love forever
I know, no matter what

{No Matter What - Boyzone}

She
Who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She
May be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember till the day I die

{She - Elvis Costello}

Are these lyrics familiar to you?

[CHORUS:]
The smile on your face
Lets me know
That you need me
There's a truth
In your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me
Whenever I fall
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all

{When you say nothing at all - Ronan Keating}

How about the song, 'How can you mend a broken heart?" I find it perfect for when Anna Scott and William Thacker break up. The music and the lyrics weigh so much sentiment and it really reflects what is happening to them in the movie.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again

{Al Green}

Bilingual Seasons of the Year Printable

I have two children and both of them are growing up bilingually. I speak to them in Spanish all day, while my husband speaks to them in English and Spanish. We have been checking the weather on a daily basis to know when's the best time to go outside to play with water or to take a family walk.  We also check the weather to see the temperature in other states where other family members currently live.  Here's a copy of the seasons of the year printable that I made. It's available in a pdf file for you to use at home with your children or in your classroom.  The images that I used to make the Seasons of the Year - Bilingual English Spanish poster come from this website  Seasons of the Year - Bilingual English / Spanish Free Printable Click here to download the .pdf file. ~Fabi
